WPJA Diamond Awards – February 2026
WPJA Diamond Awards 2026 – a return to international contests
Since January 2026, I have returned to participating in international wedding photography contests. After a period dedicated entirely to my couples and to personal artistic research, I felt the desire to once again measure my work on a global stage and submit images that are not simply photographs, but fragments of authentic stories lived with intensity.
Some of my recent engagement session photographs have been selected in the WPJA Diamond Awards, a recognition dedicated to excellence in engagement photography. These images were created during the past wedding season, mostly in Tuscany and Umbria, lands I know deeply, where light has a distinct personality and landscapes carry centuries of history.
Diamonds awards
The Diamond Awards celebrate creativity, technical mastery and emotional impact within engagement sessions. For me, engagement photography is never a rehearsal for the wedding day. It is an intimate chapter of the story, a space where couples can simply be themselves without the rhythm and intensity of the wedding celebration. It is where trust grows and authenticity naturally emerges.
My approach to engagement sessions reflects the philosophy that has always guided my work. I blend the discipline of analog photography with the expressive possibilities of digital tools. My long experience with film and with ancient photographic printing techniques has trained me to interpret light with precision and confidence. I do not rely on capturing countless images in the hope that one will succeed. I observe carefully, I wait, I anticipate. When I press the shutter, it is because emotion, composition, gesture and light have aligned in a single, meaningful moment.

Timeless elegance
This mindset, rooted in analog culture, shapes even my digital workflow. The result is a collection of images that feel intentional yet spontaneous, refined yet authentic. Photographs that preserve the natural atmosphere of the Tuscan hills or the quiet poetry of Umbrian villages without excessive post production or artificial manipulation.
Being part of WPJA has always represented something significant in my professional journey. I still remember the emotion of being admitted to this prestigious association and later being named Photographer of the Year. Returning to its contests today feels like reconnecting with an important chapter of my career, now enriched by greater awareness and artistic maturity.
These Diamond Awards confirm that authenticity, patience and a deep respect for light still matter in contemporary wedding photography.
To the couples who trusted me during the past season in Tuscany and Umbria, these recognitions belong to you as well. Your genuine smiles, your quiet gestures, your spontaneous embraces are the true heart of these images.
And this is only the beginning of 2026.
